Welcome to your Houston psychiatry practice where patients receive compassionate care through expert psychiatrists and counselors. Our motto is Empowerment, Recovery, & Success through longer visits and more personalized attention. Your journey starts with a detailed psychiatric evaluation that focuses on your concerns. We listen, understand, and create personalized treatment plans that may include talk therapy, medication, nutrition advice, lifestyle changes, and diagnostic testing. Our Houston psychiatrists treat patients beginning at age 3.
Our psychiatrists have advanced training in child psychiatry, teen psychiatry, and adult psychiatry. A child psychiatrist has completed an undergraduate degree, four years of medical school, four years of general psychiatry, and two extra years of specialized training in child & adolescent psychiatry. This training gives us a deeper understanding of how mental health develops, from early childhood to adulthood. We work closely with families, schools, and pediatricians across Houston to give students and parents the support they need. Whether your child is starting elementary school or preparing for college, we’re here to help.
Houston Therapists
We currently have two experienced counselors on site who work closely with our psychiatrists to provide coordinated mental health care. This team-based approach ensures that your therapy sessions align with your overall treatment plan for the best possible results. Our counselors utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), play therapy, acceptance & commitment therapy, mindfulness, and other effective therapeutic techniques. If you already have a counselor, our psychiatrists regularly coordinate with local counselors, but if you don't yet utilize talk therapy, this is a wonderful opportunity to obtain wrap-around care in one place.

Online Psychiatry
Our Houston psychiatry clinic offers secure online appointments (telepsychiatry), so you can stay connected to your psychiatrist from anywhere in Texas. Many of our college students rely on this service. During a phase of life filled with change, maintaining continuity with a trusted psychiatrist provides needed stability.
Reliable ADHD Care
As many online-only mental health platforms stop ADHD treatment due to new laws, our local clinic remains a reliable option for ADHD care. We stay up to date on Texas regulations and work closely with local pharmacies to make sure your treatment is not disrupted.

Our Houston psychiatric clinic offers the most accurate and personalized mental health care for children, teens, and adults. To better serve our patients, we provide advanced ADHD testing and genetic mental health services.
ADHD Testing in Houston
Our ADHD evaluations are designed to give you accurate results. Our ADHD psychiatrists may utilize the following during your appointment:
Detailed interview
Thorough medical history
Symptom rating scales
Cognitive testing
This process helps us accurately diagnose ADHD, determine its severity, and create a custom treatment plan based on your lifestyle.
Genetic Mental Health Testing
For patients who want a more tailored approach, we also offer genetic mental health screening. This simple test looks at specific genes that may affect how your body may react to specific medications.
Benefits of In-Person Psychiatric Care
Seeing the Full Picture Meeting face to face at our Houston clinic lets our psychiatrists notice non-verbal cues like eye contact, posture, and fidgeting that often reveal feelings that are hard to put into words. These observations help us to make more accurate diagnoses and build a stronger, supportive partnership. In child & adolescent psychiatry, this personal interaction is especially valuable because younger patients may have trouble expressing emotions.
Convenient Telepsychiatry for Follow-Ups We recognize that busy schedules, distance, or health issues can make travel difficult. That’s why Your Family Psychiatrist offers secure online appointments for patients anywhere in Texas. This is a wonderful option for our follow-up visits. Whether you choose an in-person visit or a video session from home, you’ll receive the same attentive care.
Houston Psychiatrist Facts
How much training do Psychiatrists get? Psychiatrists are medical doctors who complete over 15,000 hours of clinical training through medical school and residency. This includes about 6,000 hours during medical school and over 9,000 hours during a four-year psychiatry residency where we learn to diagnose and treat a wide range of mental health conditions. Research shows that patients who begin mental health treatment with a psychiatrist are more likely to receive an accurate diagnosis, better treatment outcomes, and fewer hospitalizations.
Should I see a psychiatrist or a therapist? Psychiatrists and therapists often work together to provide the most effective mental health care. A psychiatrist focuses on diagnosing conditions, managing medications, and monitoring physical symptoms that may be linked to mental health. A therapist provides regular talk therapy to help you work through emotional challenges naturally. When these professionals collaborate, treatment is more complete with combined medical expertise and consistent emotional support. At our Houston psychiatry clinic, we frequently coordinate with therapists to ensure patients receive well-rounded care.
Are your clinicians trained locally? Yes! Our clinicians grew up and trained in Texas. They live locally and understand what you are going through. Our physicians and counselors have trained at University of Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech Health Sciences Center, Texas Christian University, Sam Houston State University, and University of Houston.
