Appointments
Please contact us at 281-849-4080 to schedule an appointment or ask questions about our services. If our staff is currently busy on another call, please leave a message and we will get back with you as soon as possible.
Your Family Psychiatrist does not double book appointments. Your appointment time is reserved for you and allows us to minimize your time in the waiting room.
Initial Psychiatric Evaluation: $330-400 based on age
The initial psychiatric evaluation may last between 1-2 hours to provide a thorough evaluation. Please plan to accommodate this time for comprehensive care.
For children and adolescents: We prefer to interview a parent and the child/adolescent individually in addition to discussing treatment together as a team. If your child can not be safely left alone in the waiting room, please bring another adult to watch the child/adolescent while the parent/guardian is being interviewed. Please do not bring other siblings/children to the initial appointment, so that the entire time may be devoted to the patient. If parents are divorced, a divorce decree is required in advance. If guardianship paperwork is relevant, please provide this documentation as well.
Treatment recommendations may include medication, therapeutic interventions, and/or psychological testing. We work closely with many counselors and therapists to provide comprehensive care when indicated.
Psychiatric Follow-Up Sessions: $160
These sessions last up to 25 minutes to monitor response to medication treatment. Length between sessions will vary based on the needs of the patient and treatment recommendations. Patients are seen at a minimum of once every 3 months. When starting a new medication, follow-up visits will need to be more frequent. Patients in crisis can be seen weekly if needed.
Psychiatric Re-Evaluations: $320
If patients have not been seen in over 8 months by our psychiatrist, we may require a 1 hour re-evaluation session to be scheduled before follow-up sessions can be resumed. Many life changes can occur in 8 months, and we want to ensure that you are continuing to be diagnosed and treated correctly.
New to Practice Therapy Session: $150
We have masters level therapists on staff to provide counseling services. Patients are not required to see our psychiatrists to participate in counseling. These sessions are reserved for patients that have never seen a clinician at Your Family Psychiatrist in the past, and they are scheduled for approximately 80 minutes.
Follow-Up Therapy: $115-130
After the new to practice therapy session or referral from our psychiatrists, patients are scheduled for follow-up therapy sessions that last approximately 55 minutes with our masters level therapists. Patients with acute issues can be seen 3x/week or as infrequently as every few months depending on severity of symptoms/concerns.
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy: $430
Your Family Psychiatrist offers sessions that include both ketamine and therapy for those 18+ years old. To determine eligibility, you must first have completed appointments with one of our psychiatrists and one of our therapists. Certain medications may exclude you from treatment. These sessions last approximately 2.5 hours which includes medication administration, medical monitoring, and therapy. Follow-up therapy appointments for integration work are expected. Ketamine can be very enlightening and allow progress to be made in therapy that would otherwise be much more difficult. In addition, research is showing ketamine to be a potent anti-depressant. Ketamine is only provided in-office in either oral or intramuscular formulations.
Payment Information
Your Family Psychiatrist does not participate with, or accept payment from, any insurer, HMO, self-funded, or group healthcare cost reimbursement plan. This allows us to provide our patients with longer appointments and a more relaxed environment. Additionally, this policy ensures confidentiality for patients who elect to keep treatment private and not notify their employer or others of their treatment. Payment for services is required prior to your appointment, and all major credit cards are accepted. If you participate in any plan that reimburses you for out-of-network healthcare costs (Medicare excluded by their own laws), we will provide you with documentation for you to submit your claim on your own behalf, upon request. This includes a receipt with a tax ID number, date of service, and the proper diagnostic codes upon each visit.
*Miscellaneous fees for record requests, after-hours phone calls, and forms you need completed are discussed under the office policies tab.
